Northern Ireland Website Scrappage Scheme

by denise 24. April 2012 09:00

Fancy receiving a cash discount for trading in your old website for a new one?

The Web Bureau is urging businesses to ditch their old website and receive up to £1,000* discount off a new site until the end of May 2012.

Our Website Scrappage Scheme is open to all organisations and entrepreneurs in Northern Ireland and aims to afford them the opportunity to trade in and move up in the online world.

Paul Haslam, Director of The Web Bureau, which specialises in web design, e-commerce, content management, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and bespoke web software said:

“Your website is the first port of call for many potential customers or stakeholders and first impressions last. Many websites in Northern Ireland look dated, lack fresh content and are not designed and content managed in a search friendly manner, thus fail to meet many of the objectives they were originally designed to deliver.

“We’re offering organisations the chance to rectify this situation by scrapping their old website in return for a visually engaging, functional and search friendly website, and receive up to £1,000 off the cost of the new build.”

Paul Haslam continued:

"Our knowledge of evolving digital media, our hands-on experience and our always-do-more attitude provide the best quality and service to our clients.  We work hard to transform initial design concepts into websites that maximise the full potential of their online presence.

The Web Bureau has recently completed websites for leading organisations including Kingspan, BBC and the Grand Opera House.

*The Website Scrappage Scheme is open to all businesses and organisations with up to £1,000 cash back for bigger projects. Discounts will be agreed before work commences.

A Day at The Grand Opera House Belfast

by denise 25. November 2011 14:53

The Grand Opera House Belfast is a well known theatre in Northern Ireland situated in Belfast city centre, but up until a few months ago, we only thought of the Grand Opera House as being a show venue.  After a recent tour of the facilities, where we met some of its enthusiastic team members, we have a totally new perspective of the Grand Opera House Belfast!

The Web Bureau has been working with the Grand Opera House Belfast and its box office system partner for a number of months on the launch of its new and improved website so we thought it was time for our internet marketing team to get inside Belfast’s oldest theatre venue to find out a bit more about what The Grand Opera House Belfast has to offer the people of Belfast, Northern Ireland and our overseas visitors.

Theatre in Belfast

The Grand Opera House presents a wide variety of shows in many genres, including drama, comedy, musicals, family shows, opera and dance.  At the minute, the upcoming highlight will be the extremely popular annual Christmas pantomime, which this year is Jack and The Beanstalk

As a theatre venue, The Grand Opera House Belfast has a lot of history and character. Whilst standing in the empty auditorium, looking down from the corporate boxes or the upper circle, we got an insight into how your experience of watching a show can differ depending on where you are seated. Looking up, we also developed a new appreciation for the intricacy of the building’s design from its ornate roof to the elephant and Buddha characters which are contained within the design. There is much to see that is simply missed during the hustle and bustle of a show night, where the lighting is dimmed and your focus is on the stage rather than the surroundings.  The Grand Opera House Belfast is certainly a unique venue and one that is well worth a tour.

Places to Eat in Belfast

If you are a regular show-goer, you may be familiar with the Hippodrome Restaurant at the Grand Opera House Belfast, which seats approximately 70 people and is available for pre-theatre dinner booking for ticket holders.  This L shaped restaurant in Belfast city centre overlooks Great Victoria Street and internally, it is situated on a balcony overlooking the entrance to the Baby Grand and Lucianos Cafe Bar, a more recent and modern development to the Grand Opera House Belfast.

Many of us enjoy eating out in Belfast, especially during a shopping trip, work lunch or simple just to have a catch-up with friends. Lucianos Cafe Bar is definitely a lunch or afternoon tea venue in Belfast that should be added to your ‘favourite places to eat in Belfast’ list and we can highly recommend the cheese burger with salsa and fries!

Conference Venues and Meeting Rooms in Belfast

The events, conferencing and meeting room facilities at the Grand Opera House Belfast are perhaps better known in Belfast’s business community.  From the auditorium to the Baby Grand to the Shakespeare Rooms and Boardroom, the Grand Opera House caters customers who require for meeting rooms, conference venues, corporate hospitality and graduations and awards ceremonies in Belfast, to fashion shows, private parties, murder mystery nights, burlesque nights and is even a wedding venue and wedding reception venue!

A Unique Wedding Venue in Northern Ireland!

If you are looking for an unusual wedding venue in Northern Ireland, somewhere that bit different from all the other wedding venues you have been to, the Grand Opera House Belfast is definitely one of the best wedding venues in Belfast for your wedding ceremony, wedding reception and wedding photos. The hospitality team also offer a range of catering packages to suit each customer’s preferences.

I hope this gives you a greater insight into what our local theatre in Belfast has to offer as it did for us!

YouTube Marketing

by Lea Glover 17. November 2011 16:32

YouTube is now considered to be the second largest search engine after Google. With over 90 million unique monthly visitors and an average monthly view time of 54 hours per user, this platform is better for marketers than ever before.

It’s therefore surprising that YouTube is sometimes overlooked by businesses when considering an Internet Marketing strategy. Videos only take a few minutes to upload and the results can be significant yet many businesses in Northern Ireland seem to be missing out on YouTube’s online marketing value. YouTube can visibly promote your product or service in a creative way, but it is also a valuable tool for Search Engine Optimisation and analytics:

Search Engine Optimisation Value

Google puts high SEO importance on video content. With little effort your videos can easily out-rank competitor websites, top directories and article sites, often appearing on the first page. Google owns YouTube, so this alone increases its SEO value but there is also much opportunity to include links, tags and keywords in the description section.

YouTube Ads

The promoted video feature on Youtube brings the power of search advertising with keyword-based targeting. YouTube Promoted Videos work on the same basis as Google Adwords but are much better value for money. Target your video campaign with keywords and pay only when someone clicks to watch your video. This will drive potential customers to your videos where a ‘call to action’ overlay will link back to your website.

Analytics

Take advantage of YouTube’s Insights, an analytics tool that provides information such as demographics, abandonment rate, re-winds and fast-forwards. YouTube Insights will identify the exact point viewers leave your video and which scenes within the video are proving to be most popular.

Going Viral

48 hours of video content is loaded to YouTube every minute, therefore viral video marketing is in fact very difficult to achieve. Forget ‘going viral’ and think quality, not quantity. It’s important to focus on targeting your video to the correct market. A high number of visits isn’t as important as reaching the right customers.

If you’re serious about using YouTube as an internet marketing tool, then do your research. Find your niche, discover what’s hot, identify current video trends and recognise good ideas for video content.

Online Market Research

Test your audience before your video goes live by running two different unlisted videos backed by search ads to determine which one gets the best response. An unlisted video will not appear on any of YouTube’s public spaces. Only people with a link to the video will be able to view it.

The comments box below your video can be used as online focus group testing. These comments will provide valuable insight into the products or services you’re promoting. Interact with viewers by answering comments or enquiries about your videos. This will not only create creditability but also encourages viewers to return leaving new comments, ratings and more views.
