As we create more and more mobile sites, we also need to be able to test the sites in the various mobile browsers. To test for ipad and iphone safari has a useful set of developer tools that allows you to change the user-agent of the browser. To enable the developer tools toolbar click on edit > preferences. Then click on the Advance tab and select the check box for 'Show Develop menu in menu bar'. You should now be able to see the 'Develop' item in the menu. If you open this up and scroll to user-agent you should now be able to select the user-agent for the browser.
