Funeral Times

The Challenge

Death notices were one of the last bastions of traditional newspaper revenue to remain offline, our challenge was to change that with the advent of a new web application and system. The system was to be split into two separate jurisdictions – one for Northern Ireland (Funeral Times) and one for the Republic of Ireland (iNotices). We were also required to work closely with In House Publications & Independent News and Media (Dublin) in order to create the Newspaper publication aspect of the website as well.

Our Approach

The system was built in three distinct phases. The first stage was to build a system allowing Funeral Directors to add death notices to an online web platform. The second, was then to build a system that allowed Funeral Directors to publish Death Notices live into several mainstream newspapers e.g. Belfast Telegraph (Belfast) & Evening Herald (Dublin). And the final stage, was to add an eCommerce element to the application to allow for online billing and payment.
